2017-2019
As one of the founding designers at Amazon Web Services, I played a pivotal role in shaping Amazon Honeycode, a no-code/low-code app-building platform launched in 2020. Our vision, which earned approval from AWS's former CEO, Andy Jassy, quickly led to rapid expansion across San Francisco and Seattle.
Honeycode tackled the challenge of disjointed task management faced by business users, integrating disparate systems such as spreadsheets, messaging, and calendar. The absence of mobile accessibility was a major pain point, severely complicating workflows. To address this, we empowered users to create customized apps from spreadsheets, seamlessly integrating automation tools.
After defining the product vision in collaboration with our product leadership team, my responsibilities included designing user experience for spreadsheets, the app builder, and native mobile applications. Additionally, I laid the foundation for our initial design system, ensuring a cohesive user experience across desktop and mobile.
Desktop experience
I worked on information architecture iterations in collaboration with my design partners, and led design for spreadsheet tables and their functionalities, the app components for the app builder and some of their configuration tools.
Mobile experience
I collaborated to design a seamless mobile experience for users' apps created with our desktop builder in Honeycode. Working with my design partner, product manager and users, I crafted the app's information architecture and led the design of collaboration tools and a versatile UI of our app components that adapts across platforms. Design system
My work for our design system comprised of some of the foundational UI elements that had to scale across all platforms.
